Common questions
How does it plug in? Is it battery, USB, or wired?
Most of our pieces are USB-C powered (cable included) — run it off any USB plug, laptop, or power bank. Some are rechargeable battery, some are standard wall plug. Each product page lists the exact power method up top with the variants.
No proprietary AC bricks. No mystery voltage adapters from a Chinese factory. If it needs a plug, it's a normal one.
How bright is it? Will it disturb my sleep?
These are ambient and accent lights, not overhead task lighting. Designed to layer with your existing lamps — bedside, shelf, behind a TV, ceiling corner. If you need a bright reading light, pair this with a desk lamp.
Most of our pieces are dimmable to a low warm glow, which is the opposite of disrupting your sleep — soft warm light below ~2700K is what your circadian rhythm actually wants at night. The lights to avoid are bright cool/blue overheads (which we don't sell).
How long does shipping take?
Most orders arrive in 8–15 days from order date (1–3 days processing + 8–15 days delivery). Tracking goes to your email as soon as it ships. Free shipping on orders over $35.
What if I don't like it?
60-day return window, any reason. Email hello@3amstudio.us and we'll send a prepaid label (US orders). Full refund the day we get it back.
Can I leave it on overnight? Does it run hot?
Yes — LED-based, so the bulb and base stay cool to the touch even after hours of use. The whole point is to run these as a sleep-light or ambient mood-light all night.
Energy is negligible (most pieces draw 2–6 watts). Leaving it on costs you pennies a month. The only piece we'd unplug overnight is one running a motor (like a rotating galaxy projector) — those have a built-in timer for that reason.
